FAQS

Kinesiology

How does it work?

Kinesiology makes use of muscle testing techniques to monitor the flow of energy throughout the body on a very fine level. The assessment techniques are good at identifying the causes of problems and can be useful in pinpointing the sources of ill health and fatigue that have no obvious medical causes. It lets the body reveal precisely where the problems may lie and what the body may need in to improve the energy.

Feedback directly from the body indicates what is required to correct not only the presenting symptom, but also more importantly the underlying cause.

It is also useful for preventing possible health issues.

Corrections are made by gentle massage and touch on reflex and acupuncture points. Kinesiology makes use of specific body movements and may suggest changes in lifestyle or nutrition.

Is it safe?

Kinesiology is a very safe, health enhancing therapy for everyone from infants to the elderly. It does not diagnose or treat diseases – it allows the body to reveal what it needs to restore balance and ill health. The techniques used are simple and gentle. They work by enhancing the clients’ energy. Patients, who are sick, or disabled in some manner, may be treated by using a surrogate.

What happens in a session?

The kinesiologist will explain the muscle testing procedure and will place limbs in different positions whilst applying a light manual pressure to test muscle response. Skillful muscle testing allows the practitioner to pinpoint the cause and areas of imbalance and will test for the appropriate procedure or technique required to restore energy balance and health.

Most muscle tests are conducted while the client is lying down on a treatment couch. There is no need to remove any clothes other than shoes. It is more comfortable if they wear loose clothing as some tests involve raising their arms and legs.

Corrections are made by a wide variety of non-invasive, gentle techniques such as touching reflex points, rubbing trigger points and light massage. Advice may be given on nutritional requirements, dietary changes, exercise and simple techniques for reducing stress. At times flower essences and vitamin supplements are recommended or prescribed to support the treatment.

How many Sessions?

Although considerable benefit may be gained from just one visit, it depends on the severity and duration of the problems as to how many treatments are necessary. Experience shows that in most cases significant improvement is seen in three to six visits.
